Just for Nana

Well, this post is just for Nana Pam...

Of course, I have a ton of pictures and stories to tell about Christmas and all the events leading up to, but for tonight...here is a message from Caleb to his Nana...

just catching up

I had no idea that it had been so long since I posted. The past month has been really busy!!! We had all sorts of things going on. Major events were the kid's harvest parties, Nana Pam and Grandaddy's visit, Thanksgiving, Josh's birthday and Grandma Jean's birthday...and, most recently, Sherwood's Christmas parade (Josh was Joseph). Of course, I have pictures of all these events, but not where I can post them just yet. I'll try to get some up in the next few days. Well, I am off to decorate the house for Christmas........

Halloween and other stuff

Monday we finally carved our puntin (as caleb calls it). Surprisingly my kids didn't want to have anything to do with the pumpkin guts. I remember carving pumpkins with my dad and sister growing up and I loved the pumpkin guts. Not my kids!! All they wanted to do was cut the pumpking! On Tuesday, Josh's class went to the Pumpkin Patch. I didn't figure there would be anything left since it was the day before Halloween, but there were quite a few pumpkins left to pick from. So, Bill and I ride out to the patch with Josh and his class. We see all the perfectly round orange pumpkins...with each one we pass we try to convince Josh that it is the best one in the patch. What does he do?!? Finds the greenest pumpkin I have ever seen!!!! Oh well, we already had an orange one at home! Well, Wednesday was Halloween. We started the evening off by going to our church's Fall Fest. Josh and Caleb had a lot of fun playing all the games...and getting lots of candy! After the Fall Fest, we did a little trick or treating around our neighborhood. There were a hundred other things that I had thought about writing here...but I can't remember any of them now that I am actually typing this. Oh well, I'll just post pictures instead...

Crazy Weekend

This weekend was crazy. Bill and I both took off Friday thinking that we would get to leave early for Ft. Smith. That didn't quite work out like we expected. Both of the boys had dr's appointments Friday morning. Caleb's was just his 2 year checkup...he is 34 inches tall and weighs 27 pounds, which puts him right smack in the 50th percentile (unlike Josh who remains in the 10th). Josh went to the dr. because for several weeks he has been complaining about his stomach hurting. We just thought he didn't want to eat...which would be why he is in the 10th percentile! Turns out that he has a minor little plumbing issue, which the dr. assured us was common in kids this age. It sucked for my mom though...cause while we went to Fayetteville, she got stuck with having to deal with the effects of the medicine!

On the other hand, Bill and I were off to Ft. Smith where we got to visit with my cousin Mandi, her kids and Marty and Gary. I don't get to see them very often, so it was nice to get to visit. Here are two pics of Grace and Kayleigh...

Saturday morning, we woke up and drove up to Fayetteville to the Razorback game. We had a good time. The seats were awesome. Here are a few pictures so you can see how close we were...

There is nothing in life that can embarass me more than my own stupidity...

And, apparently, today was the day for my own self to embarrass the hades out of me!!! I have always heard stories about people writing an e-mail about someone, and then because they have that person on their mind...they send the e-mail to them instead of the person they meant to send it to. Yeah, that happened to me today. Thank goodness I am able to laugh at myself...cause it was freakin' hilarious!!! I have not laughed that much in a long time...Good Times!!!

Caleb's Birthday

My baby turned 2 today. Crazy to think about. I used to laugh when people would say that they grow up faster than you can believe...but now I know what they were talking about.

Today when well though...busy, but it was fun. We went to church this morning and this afternoon Bill and I ran around like crazy people getting ready for the party tonight. I say party...we just had the family and Gale over...not sure if that qualifies as a party. It sure was a lot of work though. In all the craziness, we forgot to get a picture of me, Bill and Caleb together. Oh well, we got the cute ones of him, which is all everyone else cares about! Here are some pictures from today. I made the cake myself, my first attempt at decorating (it is harder than it looks!!!). If you can't tell, the theme was Finding Nemo. Caleb loves that movie!!!!

Busy Season

O.k. so, I wrote a really long post...then realized I was rambling through the whole thing!! So, instead of posting the whole boring thing, I'll just post some pictures!

The Game

Saturday was the AR Razorbacks first game in Little Rock this year. Of course, as is the Fields' tradition, my parents, sister, Bill and I attended the game. The fun thing this year is that Josh is starting to come with us. My parents let my sister and I begin attending games regularly when we were 4, so they are doing the same with Josh. We really had a good time. Last year, because one of us couldn't make it, we were able to take Josh...but it was not fun at all. We had all these people around us that were using language not fit for a 4 year old's ears. This year, I only heard maybe one curse word and that is it, which is really surprising given it was a night game. Normally, people have had plenty of opportunity to surpass their limit by the time a night game rolls around. The worst we had to contend with this year was the booing. People are so stupid...they say they are booing the coach and not the players, but I can tell you that it sure sounded like the boos were directed at the players. To boo players to me is terrible.......it is hard to remember sometimes because we get so wrapped up in the game and winning and losing.........but they are KIDS!!! O.k. I'm stepping up the soapbox now... Here are some pics from the game...

Again, there is no way the picture can come close to reality, but the Bellagio fountains were really cool.

Leaving Las Vegas

Well, yesterday we left Las Vegas. We left Tuesday morning and arrived at noon. We were able to get some shopping in and then we walked down to Caesers Palace to eat at one of Bobby Flay's restaurant Mesa Grill. It was wonderful!!! I had pork tenderloin with a blue corn tamale. It was some of the best food I have ever had. Expensive, but good--and on the company's dime! We were also able to see the Bellagio fountains, go to the M&M store and just walk around town. It was amazing. Our hotel was outstanding. We stayed at the Wynn. The bathroom was crazy and the bedroom had a wall of windows that looked out on the strip. I'll try to post some pictures tomorrow...

For now, it is off to bed...

Well, looks like it was just a 24 hour bug...thanks goodness!!! I don't know if I could take anymore. Work was exceptionally good today...I am on-call this weekend though so hopefully it will be a slow weekend. Then, Tuesday, Vegas here I come. It is really such a shame that our vendor has decided to have their user group meeting in Las Vegas...yeah right. I am so stinking excited. And, I get to go with two of my best friends at work! How great is that!!! Hopefully I will get some pictures that are good enough to post.

Holy Cow

First off......I can't believe I am actually doing this. I have succumbed to the peer pressure--thanks Laura! Any escape from my present activities is welcome though...almost everyone in my house (including the cats) is sick except for me of course. Which, lucky me, leaves me attempting to work from home and cleaning up after the sick ones. I would make a terrible nurse!!
Some new fun things have happened lately though. My mom, who swore she would never own a dog again, has allowed my dad to get a puppy. Bill, Josh and I went with him Sunday to get a cute little Cairn Terrier, who for lack of a better suggestion is being called Clancy. I forget how much fun puppies can be...especially when they are someone else's! Here are some pics of the new puppy...
